Peggy Kurtz
Peggy Kurtz, CMVT, earned a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education (voice) from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and a Master of Music degree in vocal performance from Pacific Lutheran University. There, as a winner of the student soloist concert, she performed Bach Cantata 150 with the PLU symphony. While living in Spain she studied and performed at the Escuela Superior de Canto.

Peggy has sung previews for Seattle Opera, and been a soloist with Tacoma Opera, Orchestra Seattle, as well as Cascade and Everett Symphonies and Youth Symphonies. Equally comfortable on the Broadway and concert stage, she has played such roles as Mabel in The Pirates of Penzance, Fiona in Brigadoon, and Aunt Eller in Oklahoma.

Ms. Kurtz taught voice class and private lessons at both Everett Community college and Trinity Lutheran College. She is a conductor, both choral and musical theatre, and a longtime member of NATS and MTNA, where her students have won scholarships and awards for adjudications. She is enjoying the new “McClosky phase” of her teaching, as it gives her the tools and background to help both singers and speakers in a deeper and more scientific method, both in lessons and through full-day and mini-workshops.
